It’s summertime (yes, we know, somebody try telling the weather that…!)
Anyway… Erewash Museum is marking the height of the school break with a summer holiday salute this week through to Friday 23rd August.
The themed week will celebrate everything that we Brits love about summer holidays – with the summer-long beach play area in the museum grounds playing a central role.
Sandcastles, deck chairs, ice cream, themed crafts and much more will be on the seaside agenda, with the family fun all on offer 11am-3pm daily.
On the Friday (23rd August) a sandy craft day will give children the chance to create a sand art picture. (Cost: £2 per child.)
Cllr Mike Wallis, Erewash Borough Council’s lead member for culture and leisure, said: “We all like to be beside the seaside and our beach area at the museum attracts thousands of visitors.
“This week will celebrate everything we love about summer – come rain or shine, as the British weather is always a player in the holidays!”
