Go wild – for free – at Adventure Fest 2019

Adventure seekers can experience the great outdoors at the annual Adventure Fest, being held at Pleasley Vale Outdoor Activity Centre.

Best of all: it’s completely free of charge!

Countryside activities on offer will include: mountain biking, climbing, laser quest, BMXing, kayaking, canoeing and orienteering.

The event is being staged by Bolsover District Council on Sunday 14th July 2019.

The council’s Extreme Wheels roadshow will also be there hosting activities such as BMX biking, skateboarding, BMX sidehacks and slacklining.

Also making an appearance will be an Extreme Wheels demonstration rider, who will wow the crowds with tricks and stunts.

Adventure Fest is open to anyone aged 7 years and above.

Bolsover District Council’s cabinet member for leisure, Cllr Mary Dooley said: “This is a fantastic day out, it’s great fun and all the family can do this together while keeping fit and active and, best of all, it’s free!”

She added: “We want to bring the great outdoors and all it has to offer right to your doorstep. So, no matter if you want to abseil off a rock or prefer a gentle paddle on the lake, we have it all.”

Participants will also have the chance to take part in heritage and countryside activities as well as arts and crafts.

Activities will run throughout the day, starting at 10am and ending at 4pm.

Participation is on a first come first served basis and some activities are time-slotted, so visitors are advised to turn up early to ensure a spot on your favourite activity!

A signed parental consent form for anyone under the age of 18 is required for participation in the activities, which can be obtained – along with an information pack – from Bolsover District Council’s website.

Cllr Dooley added: “The event is great fun and gives you the chance to try activities that you may never have tried before.

“So why not round up your friends and family, get yourself down to Pleasley Vale and have a go at what’s on offer?”
