Erewash Museum is throwing open its doors for a Toddler Takeover Day this month, giving youngsters a unique chance to see life behind-the-scenes.
It is the first event of its kind at the award winning museum and is aimed at letting under 5s join in with the running of the museum.
It’s all happening on Friday 28th June.
Visitors can drop in with their toddlers anytime between 11am and 3pm – and the tots can have a fun chance to be curators, archaeologists, security guards and much more.
Cllr Mike Wallis, Erewash Borough Council’s lead member for culture and leisure, explained: “This is all about play and toddlers having a fun time while also finding out what roles are involved in running a museum.
“This is a unique opportunity and our team can’t waiting to see toddlers takeover for the day. I urge anyone with an under-5 to put the date in the diary and go along!”
Erewash Museum is in Ilkeston Town centre, a short walk from the Market Place.
Opening hours: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday (10am-4pm) and Monday to Saturday during school holidays.
Admission is free.
